SUPER 8 BY WYNDHAM SANDUSKY, Sandusky – A Smart Stay in the City

After a family trip, we stayed at the Econo Lodge which was more up-to-date compared to hotels/resorts at Cedar Point. The rooms had a strong room freshener smell that was unpleasant, and it was too hot because the AC was not on. However, the front desk staff were helpful, and the hotel offered popcorn and pop in the evening. They responded to our complaints fast and corrected the problem without hesitation. The location is excellent for visiting Cedar Point, although it could be a little better. The dining experience had some limitations in terms of protein options for breakfast but did offer freshly made pancakes. Despite the deafening noise from the A/C units and poor soundproofing, the hotel is extremely close to Cedar Point with an inexpensive price.

This place feels like a traditional motel with parking right outside your room. It was clean, and we didn't spot any bugs, despite checking for them after a family trip. The service was extremely friendly, courteous, and very helpful. The location is fantastic if you're looking for a cheap stay near Cedar Point, and the dining was a bit light on choices but included bagels, waffles, cinnamon rolls, sugar-coated doughnuts, and 3 types of cereal.

The hotel is wonderfully located, super close to Cedar Point and we will definitely stay there again. The rooms, although plain and more bare bones for an economy lodging, were welcoming. The service was very nice with friendly staff, but they were sometimes loud with each other. The dining experience was great with a comfortable room, but could have used more protein options for breakfast. The optimal location and proximity to Cedar Point make it fantastic if you're in town for the park.
